More than 11 Talks and Café Conversation with Learning and Development Specialist

Background

The 2020 pandemic has built a lot of uncertainty, globally. There are many challenges arising, keeping all of us in a space of constant curiosity. It is broadening our perspectives and is challenging our thinking into redefining the spaces we live and belong to. We are organically taken action and is becoming a knowledge sharing era, using technology. It is pertinent we are being pushed to d enhance and deliver reliable information beyond library walls.

Post Covid, there are many lessons that shall transpire and be adopted into the system, such that communities learn and rely more on libraries. Libraries could be seen initiating a bouquet of opportunities for everyone through informal educational services, innovative services, engineering designs and prototypes, do it yourself learning, early- functional, youth and adult literacy, using ICTs, and so on..

Pre Covid, for more than two decades, globally, many librarians have been catalysing public libraries as a place for community to learn and thrive. These Librarians are global library leaders who have demonstrated changes for bridging digital, and gender divide. They have also slow showcased the importance of revitalising public libraries as a knowledge hub, wherein, enhancing access to information can build stronger, inclusive and knowledgeable communities.

This dialogue series evolved in the INELI South Asia, culminated with the idea of   bringing together Global Library Leaders, leading and accelerating change in their public libraries. These session focus on rebuilding library through innovation, trending technology, digital integration, change management, process intensive, adapt, going green in approaches, design thinking, architecture, adopted organic pathways and co-creating. Equity, Diversity and inclusive spaces can be built by librarians having a vision for re-imagining libraries as community knowledge spaces.

Learning Outcomes

1. Enhancing Library Innovator’s learning and knowledge, skills and attitude to act as community Change Makers, taking action for redefining their public libraries as life long learning centres.

2. The INELI South Asian Innovator, shall become the voice for catalysing change among your public librarians and redefining public libraries as life long knowledge learning centers, in your respective countries.  

3. Evolving a country-specific INELI network, as scale-up model functioning as a chapter of the Regional INELI Network (ANLiF).

Given this context, this platform shall host a number of global library leaders who have led the change, re-imagine and are delivering transformative public libraries, making a difference at all levels.
